A touch above the rest
Upon entering the room we could see that we were in for a treat. The decor is very modern with a wonderfully unique chandelier at the entrance and a warm atmosphere. We were seated promptly and were delighted by the obvious professionalism of our server. The menu boasts a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes described in way that is simple and easily understood yet elegant at the same time. The vegetarian samosas were good, not excellent but good. My next bite however was heaven! Chicken Biryani. I was litterally blown away by the intense flavors that came through and it all flowed from there. The Chicken Lababdar was spicy but so mouth watering that I ignored the heat. The vegetable Korma with paneer was by far the best I have ever had. The only disappointment we had was the layout of the menu only allows a group of two to try a few dishes. We tried four dishes and still came home with more than half of our food. Perhaps I am so used to Indian Buffets where I try a bit of each dish. If you had a larger group it would be great, you could try many more dishes. Now that I think about it, maybe this is just brilliant marketing; I know I will be going back to Guru again and again for more.

Not Impressed
The food was spicy but did not taste good, we had ordered about three different rice dishes, the quantity of rice was far less than what we expected, overall the amount of food served is about half of what it should be based on the prices they charge. We also tried the deserts, the apple jalebi was so greasy that it was inedible, the mango moose was very nice. The atmosphere and service was ok but I would not go back based on the prices they charge, the amount of food served and the so so taste of all the dishes we tried.
