Inexpensive and great food
My wife and I visited this restaurant while on a short visit to Victoria. We would have missed discovering the restaurant but for the guy with one of those poster things around his neck advertizing the restaurant on a main street. We were glad that we did. We were there once for lunch and the next day for dinner and enjoyed the food very much on both days. We recommend this small restaurant run by a young couple very highly. The food is delicious and the prices very reasonable.

Great Food
We had a great time, food was abit slow in arriving, but the waitress was extremely helpful, and the food was excellent. A we were compensated for the slow service. Overall a great dining experience.

We went for supper and was advised by the waitress to try the steak and mushroom pie and the roast beef and yorkshire pudding. What a great disappointment--the beef was tough and stringy and the pudding, potatoes and vegetables tasted as if they had been on the warmer all day--tough and dried out. I could not eat any and the pudding had a very strange taste. My husband asked if the pie was home made as we have tasted better from the freezer isle at safeway--no mushrooms and the gravy, as was mine on the beef, tasted as if it came from a packet. Very expensive for what it was.

Small portions, good food and really bad service!
I called to place my order for pick up in an hour later and was told sure no problem. I get there with my tired and hungry children at the time I stated and my order isn't ready, the server went to the back to check on it and told me it'll be no more than 2-3 mins and they are just finishing my order up. Ten minutes later I get a insincere apology and the server tells me it got really busy and my order is still being done. My order was ready 20 minutes late. I made the mistake of paying when I got there, if I hadn't paid then I would have walked out of there. I get home to discover one of the containers of food isn't sealed properly and it leaked all over the bottom of the paper bag which ripped. I found the service very rude and unfriendly. The food is good but not worth the hassle. Definitely not a place I'd go to again.

A Great Informal Lunch/Coffee Place
I visit as often as I can when I come to Victoria on business. Great personal service from a very friendly family. Really good authentic Mediterranean food - very high quality, good portion sizes and reasonable prices keep me coming back. The best hummous (they make it themselves!) I've ever had, too. Definitely worth visiting, time and again. I have never been disappointed.

Not exactly a hole in the wall, but...
Last night myself and two friends decided to try Zambri's after reading a good review. As an Italian, I was looking forward to some Italian food with a modern twist. The food was over-priced, but we were willing to pay the prices for the good food. The ambiance was nice too. The night was going all right, even though we were feeling rushed by the waitress who was talking much too fast for us to understand, and even though the pasta was undercooked. Then it happened. My friend gasped as he slowly pulled out one big, long, thick, dark, pasta-coated hair from his mouth. We were all extremely put off the food and told our waitress we would not be finishing. She offered us a coffee on the house and asked if we wanted a desert "that didn't have any hair". We declined and asked for just the bill. Needless to say, we all thought that my friend's dish would at least be taken off the bill. We were all dissatisfied and the hair was the last straw. We all knew we would never be returning. Our waitress brought our bill, explained that she couldn't take the dish off of the bill, and gave us a "one free pasta" coupon. She said, "I know you might not even use it if you don't come back but you could give it to your friend or something." Not only are we never coming back, but none of us would ever recommend the restaurant to a friend. The bill was $60 for three undercooked pasta dishes and an appetizer that was engulfed with breading. We paid the bill in full, and left the useless coupon on the table. I have never been at such an unprofessional restaurant. Zambri's has a nice atmosphere and seems to be perfect if you're up for a little higher-class Italian dining, but honestly, McDonald's would have more class.

There's a lineup out the door for brunch because it's so great. Omelets, apple pancakes..quick service. It's a small place but really worth the wait.

The Whole Package
These guys were voted top caterer on the Island in the TC, by readers...and now I know why! We had to call on them last minute and thought they may not be able to help, but as soon as I spoke to them over the phone they quickly found out what we needed and were able to get it to us when we needed it - even though it was after their cut off time. The driver was on time and professional, the food was fresh and interesting and, most importantly, delicious! This is the first time we have used Truffles Catering and it wont be the last.
