None of us would go back there
Very limited menu. Couldn't find anything I felt like eating (mostly all deep fried or meaty stuff). Fish & chips were pretty bad, limp and greasy and the tartar sauce had a crust on part of it. Didn't care too much for the server either. Kind of pushy.

The furniture is bad - you know when the chair legs are not glued so your chair can rock because the wooden posts are disconnecting? It's dangerous.

Have never seen as much graffiti as I saw in the washroom (2nd stall) anywhere else in my life!

Not too shabby!
The food is overall decent, no complaints. Great place to come and watch hockey over a couple pints / pitchers -- you feel like you're in a theatre with all the TV's. Generally, prompt and friendly service (of course, depends on whom, every waiter out there is different). The owner has a very good heart.

Sure, it could use some improvements. No restaurant is perfect, but this one is definitely a keeper for me to visit again.

too much money for mediocre - poor food
i have no idea why this restaurant even exists.

they charge ridiculous prices for small portions and "pre-fab" food.
shame on them. but, people are silly enough to patronize this pub .
boggles my mind.

Service much too slow
Today was the first time we visited the restaurant and will be the last time. We ordered 3 main courses and there was only one server. We first waited about 10 minutes for our menu, and after we ordered the food, we had to wait 45 minutes. When we asked how much longer we would have to wait, the server asked us if we were waiting for the food or the bill! When finally they brought us the meal, we noticed the food was ok but there was too much sauce (2 of us ordered the spare ribs and somebody else had pasta).
All in all, I don't recommend it...

I recommend it for everyone!
I have to agree with Moscow. The food, atmosphere and service is great! The owner is fantastic. I've always enjoyed my meals there and that's why I keep coming back.

That is too funny
This is funny I stumbled across SherBears comments. I was at the Loon at the ex on that day at the same time. SherBear you must have something in for the restaurant because I witness your outburst with (what appeared to be the owner). You asked the price of the foods, commented and still ordered and ate it like it was going out of fashion. Then you commented to your friend to the right, you dont even have money to pay for it but watch how you get out of it.

You were an embarassment to your group I am sure as I looked at them and some were whispering to each other, about your conduct. You got your wish you didnt have to pay for the food as the owner guy did say you didnt have ot pay then you tried to even get mroe food on the house. Unbelievable, I almost stepped in to tell the owner what was going on but stayed out, now I run into this too funny.

Nothing personal but I find you to be a real problemed person when you can try to hurt a gys feelings or potential his business because of your ill ways of doing things, you really should check in to get help for this, your not a nice person at all. And for god's sake if you cannot afford something (Like the super ex) dont go.

Anyways if anyone is reading your comment I hope I have done my good samaratin deed in allowing the public to know the place is a decent place and trust me they go out of their way to make you happy but dont abuse it as this individual has done.

Buyer Be Aware!
I went to the Ottawa Exhibition this year, and my family and I visited the Arrow and Loon...they seemed to have a nice little area set up on the premises, although I was wary ..I had heard some negative things about this place before we sat down, but I thought I would give them a chance...after all, they were set up at the Ex...I figured they would be trying extra hard to rally up customers for their restaurant off the premises. After all, their prices were higher than average...how bad could they be? I was about to find out....
I ordered a salad...which, when I received it, I was shocked. I paid $6 or $7 for it, and it was nothing more than some lettuce leaves covered in a few squirts of caesar dressing, and 7 or 8 stale croutons. When I questioned the owner, (the female co owner I think...)...she just said, "yep, that's the right salad." I was not happy.
I did eat it, I was very, very hungry, and had waited about 25 minutes already.
I had 6 other family members who ordered food. We all waited for a very long time, (some of us waited almost an hour...). French fries were freezing cold, steak was tougher than tough, croutons...stale...I could go on.
When approached for comments, the owners became VERY defensive, not taking responsibility for their mistakes, but rather excuses ranged from bbq running out of propane to us not appreciating their efforts...the male owner tried to buy us off by giving us 67's tickets...didn't work for many of us...firstly because, (he said this), he didn't want us telling anyone about the bad food etc...so would we please take these tickets and not tell anyone...(!), and secondly because none of us were available to go to that particular game. He said that he was trying to make it right...by giving us tickets, and giving our money back...but there were far too many food mistakes here to be ok with this kind of service. There were MANY tables around us where food was only half eaten, and many, many people were complaining to him...he was giving money back to more than just us.
The "icing" on the cake was our exit. I said that I had had enough in terms of talking about it, gave him a positive on the waiter he had hired...(HE was good)...I walked away, then the female co owner...what an interesting person...she yelled something at us. I walked over, looked her in the eye...and asked her to repeat herself...she seemed a little surprised that I came over...she said, "You should just not go to restaurants!!" I calmly informed her that I go to restaurants as much as the average person does, and that if she wants to GET customers, to take responsibility for what she and her partner need to be accountable for.
I was shocked at her explosive temper and their general attitudes.

The waitress had a cold, but that doesn't excuse the neglectful service. We weren't offered second drinks. Hello! It's a pub!

Food ranges from disappointing to satisfactory. Nothing outstanding. Portions are generous, but we've endured burnt burgers and droopy fries.

The atmosphere is okay, but looking out into that indoor courtyard is somehow depressing. Seems to be a favourite spot for 67's fans to drop in after a game - whether that is a good point or a bad point depends on who you are.

Good selection of beer. Too bad they don't seem interested in serving it.

Repeated visits reap mediocrity. Something is wrong here; I just can't put my finger on what...

The service can be appalling. It's usually at least friendly, but prepare to be ignored for extended periods. It's also frequently busy.

The food is okay by pub standards, but not quite by the fancy ones they seem to aspire to. Plain pub fare here is quite safe, but beware bland (see esp antijitos) and, a few higher-than-usual prices for standard fare that is not higher-than-usual. Sticking to a simpler menu might be a better idea for the very student-friendly location.

The draw is a wide selection of largely local beers, along with a good patio and fairly nice bar (though the more restaurant-oriented side can be cramped and drab). An excellent place to stop for a pint, but very hit and miss for more.
