Just don't go there
i went to this restaurant on 2583 Carling Avenue. I was planning to head to Red Lobster but decided to go to this one since it is all Halal. Well, it was a mistake. The quality was very bad and almost tasteless.

Mosaic Carling Buffet
My husband and I just visited this restaurant today and it was absolutely horrid. The vegetable rice biryani was very dry and hard, the tandoori naan was very dry, the potato dishes tasted like they were stale had been cooked and reheated several times, the raita was watered down and tasteless. All of the Indian dishes were swimming in oil and very heavy on salt. It was inedible. The Chinese dishes were either tasteless or salty and all the meats were overcooked and hard to chew. As we were leaving I saw one of the staff (he showed us to our table)reheat some of the Indian dishes by pouring in boiling water and stirring. Our experience at this restaurant was absolutely nasty. Will never return and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Cheap but maybe not so cheerful?
I've walked by this restaurant many times since it is near my work and I've been very tempted to try it out since it offers both Chinese and Indian cuisine. Also, you cannot beat the advertised price in front of $8.99 for lunch and even less for take out (maybe $6.95?). I ended up going here for dinner one evening when we could not get into the mongolian hot pot near Billings Bridge. For dinner, the price is $10.99. Drinks are an extra $1.49 for soda (serve yourself style at fast food joints).

This is definitely more of place one would go for a quick meal such as lunch. It is one step above a fast food restaurant. The atmosphere is cafeteria style. It is likely packed during lunch. In the evening, my friends and I were the only other people other than an Indian family of 3. They only seemed to have paper plates instead of real plates. Selection is small. The food is edible but not great. Butter chicken, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, chicken balls, chow mien noodles, fried rice, papadum. I believe they had soup as well but I forgot to have it. Dessert selection is ice cream (Chapmans) - about 6 different flavours. Also what looked like to be a birthday cake. I did not have any since my friend said it tasted like it was about 2 days old.

I think I would only go back to this place if I am seeking variety, lots of food and don't want to pay a great deal of money. Hence it is a perfect place for the lunch crowd when one is sick of the usual boring brown bag sandwich from home.
