So this is one of the better shawarma places in Ottawa. The garlic sauce is tasty, the turnips are perfect, but there is one thing off about this place..the lack of hand washing going on. The owner usually did the serving, and everytime I would come in, he never washed my hands when preparing my food nor wore gloves. Now maybe he just washed his hands? Who knows, but when I walk in to order food, and he is sitting at a table reading the news paper, and gets up and makes my food, without washing his hands..explain that!! Not only that, but occasionally he was serving the chicken dry, and some of the toppings were out way past their best before date.
As I am aware, he no longer runs the athens grill in bells corners. The Spahara Salon took over and bought the restaurant from him. They are still using his recipe, and his garlic sauce, except it is more sanitary, and the staff wears a uniform.

Although I'm not a regular - I do agree with those statements. This place is great. Shawarama's of top quality and always FRESH, unlike other places. If I lived closer, we'd likely eat here more often. A great healthy alternative that is very tasty. Keep up the good work.

The headline says it all. I'm a regular,
and I see all the regulars who can't get enough.
This is high quality (absolutely delicious and healthy!!) greek/lebanese
food at a very reasonable price, served by the
owner, who goes out of his way to make sure you
are totally satisfied.

I'm blown away that anyone has something negative to say
about this place, and I'm disappointed that some of the other regulars haven't written in on this website,
explaining their addiction to this restaurant.

I bring my 7 year old once a week, and she LOVES it.

First, it is not greek food it is lebanese even if it is called athens grill. The service is awful, cafeteria style. The food is very average and the prices too high for the quality of food

For this simple style of restaurant, I really like this place. Really nice staff, reasonable portions, decent price, very clean. I'm going back.
