The Butchery is not a restaurant but rather a good quality, butcher, gourmet shop and delicatessen all rolled into one. A Staple in Bells Corners as long as I can remember, prompt courteous service.

Tried a Vera burger
I went last Saturday for a Vera burger. There are a lot of different sauces and toppings so you have to place your order by filling out a small piece of paper. It took a while to cook. The burger alone was around $9 including tax. Fries are cheap: only $1.49. The burger was really thick so I couldn't finish it and gave a part of it to some seagulls.

Loyal customer for years and years!
Glad to see The Butchery (Bell's Corners) on this site. We make regular visits on the weekend to pick up our deli meats for the week. They roast their own roast beef and turkey! Nothing beats the real thing and of course - no added nitrates! Unique dinner ideas and I love that you can pick up some pre-made ribs. Their third, and new, location is first rate (I remember the original way back in the day >> pre-Winners mall!). Excellent value for your money and the service is absolutely exceptional. They are picky in their hiring practices, as they should be. They have high standards all around which is why we have always gone and continue to go back. Paul (the long time manager is well liked by his staff and Both the young and more experienced staff present themselves very professionally. Keep up the great work.

A great place to shop and EAT
I've been going to the Butchery for several years now. I went last week to pick up steaks for dinner. I also got the Monte Carlo potatoes. Yum. They were great. I picked up a container of the pad thai - not very good. I also got a container of the chicken salad - it was delicious as was the pasta salad. I returned a few days later to have a Vera's burger. It was delicious. Freshly bbq's with bacon and cheese! The fries were great as well. I thought it was great the they have a little area to sit and eat your meal. After trying some of their other products I know I will be going there more often! The staff is great there. it's mostly teens but they know what they are doing and what they are talking about.

Vera's Hamburgers
I had no intention of going to the Butchery or Vera's. I was on my way to Mark's. I didn't get much past the butchery door whern the smell of grilling hamburgers stopped me in my tracks and my stomach rumbled. I find it so hard to get a decent burger in this town that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try Vera's. I ordered a hamburger with the works and they mean the works-(can be ordered with the workks cold-no hot stuff). The burger was made to order and delicious. The fries while not textbook chipwagon stuff were close enough. I'd definately go back and have another for the $10 I spent for hamburger, fries and soft drink. The atmoshere is that of a butchery so I'd stay away if you want to impress someone. The seating is a corner with a couple of tables and stools and bar type seating at the windows. It's not fancy but the food stood on it's own merits.

This is the place we go to buy two specific things: their California roast, and while we are there, Vera's pre-mixed ground beef. We usually make our own killer burgers, but we also like to buy some of "Vera's" when we are there, just for the pure convenience. Also, just tried their big sandwiches from the deli counter and they were good. $4 - big and heavy and full of meat. They roast their own meat to serve in the deli.

Great Butcher
I live next door to a small, family-run butcher, yet I go out of my way to shop at The Butcher. Great quality, they always have what you want, and the staff (even the teenage part-timers) know everything there is to know about their products - where it came from, how to cook it, what cuts are better than others.
It can get very busy around the lunch and dinner hours, but the high turnover guarantees freshness.
I feel guilty passing by my neighborhood butcher with bags full of The Butchery's stuff, but it's just that good.

Great meat/good takeout
THE place in Ottawa for meat, especially BBQ. Try their beef ribs. Perfect for the BBq and great value. Potato salad has bacon it-how can you go wrong ?

Christmas Turkey
Ordered a fresh turkey 2 weeks before Christmas. Went in on Dec 21st to purchase other meats and confirmed again to them that I was coming in on the 24th to pick up my 25lb FRESH turkey and they told me that yes all is OK and they have plenty of 25lb ones in the back. Went in at 9:30am on the 24th and they told me they don't have anymore and presented me with two 13lb defrosted turkeys. Couldn't fit both in my oven. I thought with such an establish business they wouldn't screw their loyal customers. Well...they won't with me anymore because I'll never go back.
